Anyone wishing to attend junior or senior amputee football training in Glasgow or Dundee is welcome to simply turn up or drop us a line beforehand so we can update you with dates and times.
We're looking for sponsors and volunteers to get behind the 2020 amputee football Scottish Cup in September 2020 at The Oriam in Edinburgh. If you or your company can help, please get in touch.
One of our primary objectives is to encourage clubs across Scotland to introduce amputee football to their training programmes. In July 2017, we kicked off our #LegOffGameOn Amputee Football Roadshow to take the sport to clubs across Scotland and its been running ever since.
At present, amputee football coaching at both senior and junior level takes place fortnightly at Partick Thistle FC in Glasgow and Dundee United.
Training sessions incorporate elements of strength and conditioning from specialist coaches. The West of Scotland team has also benefited from visits by guest coaches including Northern Ireland manager, Michael O'Neill. Other clubs to have held training sessions in amputee football include Motherwell FC, Annan Athletic and Spartans FC.
We will endeavour to take the sport north and south to establish further teams and ultimately a Scottish Amputee Football League.
In 2018, Amputee Football Association Scotland and the Scottish Football Association hosted the inaugural Amputee Football Scottish Cup, with Dundee United and Partick Thistle, the first event of its kind in Scotland.
